Vision began in 2016, to empower people with information to access funding for their organisations

Great speakers came to empower and motivate people to dream again. They encouraged people not to give up.

Great exhibitors showcased their goods and services and were provided with a platform to talk to the audience.

Despite the cold winter weather, people around Gauteng came in numbers. They learnt, were empowered and connected.

Two years later, the vision continued. This time, much bigger and better. It included a segment on Jobs.

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is coming to empower youth with information to get funding, skills and prepare for the dream job. You will be registered on the system to be able to access these opportunities. Youth Entrepreneurs to receive Business Management training in November 2022.

Gauteng Enterprise Propeller (GEP) offers financial and non-financial support to qualifying SMMEs and Co-operatives across all sectors in Gauteng. 

Support includes Start-up Finance, Growth Finance, Development of Marketing Tools, Training, Mentorship. These & more to be discussed in their presentation. 

Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) is an agency that provides non-financial support and prepares cooperatives and SMMEs for funding. A presentation on all services for Coops and SMMEs will be provided. FREE Training opportunities will be available for Cooperatives and SMMEs in Gauteng and beyond,

  The City of Johannesburg’s Social Development department has initiated programs such as communal gardens, rooftop gardens, aquaponic projects, food empowerment zones and agri- resource centres. All farmers are invited to attend the information session and be empowered.

The Department of Employment and Labour (DEL) is responsible for matters related to employment, job creation, unemployment insurance and more. Its Public Employment Services Unit is mandated to contribute to job creation.  It has opportunities for youth & people that want to access these services. 

The Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDARD) has programs which are aimed at reducing poverty through increased food production initiatives. ​The purpose is to provide grants to the emerging black farming communities to achieve an increase in agricultural production.

NDA (National Development Agency) has funding which is provided to CSOs that contribute towards the improvement of the quality of life in communities through programmes or projects that assist the poor. Financial and non-financial resources are identified and mobilised to support NPOs and CSOs. CSOs (Civil Society Organisations) will be empowered by NDA’s presentation.

IDC (Industrial Development Corporation) provides niche and innovative funding products aimed at enhancing and growing South Africa’s industrial capabilities.

Funding that IDC provides is for agro-processing & agriculture, automotive & transport equipment, infrastructure, mining & metals, media & audio-visual, mining & metals, textiles & wood products and tourism.

The Small Enterprise Finance Agency (SEFA) provides development finance to SMMEs and Co-operatives that are not able to attract commercial credit. 

SEFA is committed to providing these entities with the best service and expertise, and strives to do so in innovative and creative ways. Many organisations have benefitted a lot from SEFA opportunities. 

Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator is a not-for-profit social enterprise building African solutions for the global challenge of youth unemployment. In South Africa we work with many partners who are committed to results that can work at scale – including government, the private sector, civil society, and over 1.5 million youth. SA Youth is South Africa’s national network for all young people to access learning and earning opportunities – for free!

Tshepo is a youth empowerment initiative in South Africa, especially in Gauteng. Its mission is to help and provide young people in accessing opportunities that will be useful for their future. Besides, learners will get some formal employment in companies of all sizes. The learners will be able to get opportunities for voluntary or temporary work placement. Temporary work placement enables you to build your CV by adding some short-term internship, learnership, etc. 

The National Empowerment Fund (NEF)  is a driver and thought-leader in promoting and facilitating black economic participation by providing financial and non-financial support to black-owned and managed businesses, and by promoting a culture of savings and investment among black people.  It promotes, enable, implement and develop innovative investment and transformation solutions to advance sustainable black economic participation in the economy.

The hall was full to capacity as people had made up their minds to learn. 

Scores of people descended from many townships. Their lives were changed. 

There were speeches from various government departments. 

Several funding agencies, private and public, came to empower people. 

Various speeches were meant to empower people on how they can access funding. 

Powerful motivational speakers were there to boost the self esteem of the audience. 

Business presentation were meant to encourage small businesses t riser up. 

HR Experts were showing the young how to position themselves for the world of work.
